What happens in your Sunday meetings?
What happens during the 'worship' time? The 'worship' time is for us to express our love and thanks to God. At times, it can be loud and joyful; at other times it is quieter and more reflective. Whatever stage you are at in your relationship with God, we invite you to join in with the worship as much as you feel able. The music is fairly modern but includes some hymns as well. We encourage people to sing along - words are projected onto screens to help you. The most important person at all our meetings is God himself. This means that meetings are unpredictable - very often, God's power has changed our lives and our plans in unexpected ways. We regularly pray for people to be healed from all sorts of illnesses, and have seen many amazing results with our own eyes. If you need God's power to heal you or to help you overcome life's difficulties, you can expect answers here. Will someone preach?Probably, yes. The messages on Sunday morning are relevant to life today. We take the teachings of the Bible and express them as challenges for daily living. We often include small group discussions as part of this session. Will I be asked to give money? We usually take an offering, but we don't expect visitors to join in unless they particularly want to. Please don't feel under any pressure to give anything. Infants and children Do you have a crèche?Yes - there are crèches for 0-2 year olds and 3-4 year olds available from 11am until 12:30pm on the first floor. We have a parent team (all CRB-checked) supervising children at all times and we'd be glad to help look after your children. Please collect your children no later than 12:30pm. What about older children?Kingzone caters for primary school-aged children. Usually Kingzone groups leave the main hall around 11:15am and come back near the end of the meeting. During this time, they will be involved in a range of fun and learning activities under the supervision of children's workers. To leave your children in the care of Kingzone workers, you need to complete a registration form for each child the first time they join Kingzone. Children are then signed in and out each week. You need to collect your children by 12:30pm at the latest. After the meetingThe meeting ends around 12:15-12:30pm most weeks. However we encourage people to stay for tea and coffee and a chance to chat. We usually have biscuits and sometimes cake too! Every few weeks, we run Easylunch, a no-frills free lunch for anyone who wants to stay. As a visitor you are very welcome to join us if Easylunch is running. Is it all suits, ties and fancy hats? Our style on Sunday morning is very casual. You can expect to see people of all ages wearing jeans, casual shirts etc. Ties are rare, and suits are even more rare! There is no need to feel nervous about what to wear - we want you to feel comfortable as you enjoy the service.
